01. Why Be a Guardian?

Being a guardian family for a dog can be an excellent way to have a top quality dog for a family pet without all the expense. Every dog deserves a loving forever family that they can call their own. Guardian Homes play an important part of our program and it benefits everyone involved, the dog, the breeder and the forever family.

Ownership

02. Will I Own My Pup?

Our Guardian Home Program allows for local families to have a breeder’s “Pick of the Litter” puppy. These pups live with you as your family dog while we retain breeding rights for the dog. The puppies are whelped at our home and the mama stays with us until pups are weaned. Most dogs retire by five years of age and will not have their first litter until around 2 years of age.  What this means for you and your guardian home labradoodle is that they have approximately 3-4 litters in 5 years and then we will pay the cost to have your dog spayed or neutered.

03. Apply for Guardianship.

If you receive a guardian puppy we ask for updates and photos for our website. We want to watch our guardian puppies develop and we will occasionally need to have planned visits, so that the puppy is comfortable in our home. Since she will need to come here when it is time to have her babies. If you’re interested in becoming a guardian please fill out the contact sheet below and we will reach out to speak with you.

4 + 3 =

cost

04. What Will It Cost me?

We do require a deposit to place the dog in your home, but it is a fraction of the cost for a adopted puppy. The dog then is raised, trained and cared for by you, just like a normal pet would be. Desert Diamond Labradoodles would be responsible for any reproduction and breeding related costs, however but you would be responsible for the general routine veterinary care and wellness visits, vaccines, grooming expenses, training expenses and socialization!
